This kind of movie is like watching a video on Youtube..the special effects are laughable, and this has to be one of the most miserable films of the year. Zero, no negative stars if I could give it.

A very good movie. I don't miss anything that stars A. Pacino, or C. Walken, I always like their performances. A. Arken was good here too. Script very good and I found it very fun despite some of the negative press. A must see if you are a fan of any of these actors.

I am disappointed. I didn't find it suspenseful really, a nice twist in the middle but not much else. The comparison with Hitchcock or De Palma I can't really see. The actors are good but ultimately the script wasn't that great. I don't think Steven Soderbergh is the most qualified director for this kind of film.

This manages to be a folly and heavy at the same time. A shallow movie, empty, and it hides behind special effects.

It wasn't a bad way to spend the evening. Obviously, Tom's a bit "mechanical"..but less so here than in the Mission Impossible series. But for me the plot is the problem, many gray areas exist, but even so, it wasn't a bad ride for 2 hours.

I would have to agree with many of my friends who say it was very difficult to follow the narrative between characters in this film. I would also agree that most if not all of the time I really struggled...However, it is rare that I am carried by a film to an extent like this one. As a critic was recently quoted: "the film's message is subliminal and touches the audience subconsciously." That sums it up quite nicely in my opinion.

Some films penetrate the soul and keep you thinking for weeks afterwards, this is one of those films. A film that I can say is truly a work of art. It was not only entertaining but had an emotional payoff. One thing is for certain, whether you ultimately think the film is good or not, it's a film that should be seen in this life so that your own opinion can be drawn.

The beginning is quite interesting...but quickly goes astray. Then you find yourself in the clutches of a stereotypical TV movie. The story goes nowhere, it's very easy to guess what's going to happen next. The dynamic between the young single girl and the widowed father (and daughter) grows old before you know it. I tried my best to stay for the whole movie but left the last half hour. I had better things to do..

Barely amusing and nothing more..one of the most boring films I've seen in awhile. The director tries to rely on overused Hollywood tricks to convince, but fails miserably.

A movie for a rainy weekend..not too pretentious. Tom Cruise does a good job and is easy to look at (as usual). The movie isn't too complex, I like films about Russian gangs so this was right up my alley. As long as your expectations aren't too high you should enjoy this film.

I loved this movie...both actors are perfect especially Julianne Hough, who is just sublime. I am obsessed with her after watching this film. Another Nicolas Sparks masterpiece (Dear John, Lucky One), definitely worth watching.

I'm usually not one for this genre of film, but must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. Julianne Hough does a surprisingly good job, and even though it's a classic the little extra at the end makes it all the more touching. I saw it in the theaters but hopefully the DVD is released in my country (France). Overall I recommend especially if you like the "Romance" genre.

It was a good movie, not a masterpiece but good, and a very well written script as well. Tom Cruise isn't done yet folks, whether you like it or not. I personally think he fulfills all that could be expected of him here..I recommend it especially now that it's on DVD.

This will by no means be film of the year, and Tarantino has nothing to worry about, but even if there were many imperfections within the script and screen tension waxed and waned, the movie was nevertheless a good dark thriller. The backdrop really did it for me, held me from beginning to end, great ambiance. It was effective but not ground breaking, and the actors didn't disappoint.

This was a great romantic comedy, anyone who enjoys movies in this genre should love it. And yet the genre should really be said to be "independent" as it's more on the sad, dark side than what most people expect in a romantic comedy. Despite the fact that it's a bit dark, it's got a great cast, the acting was simple and without too much emphasis. A real gem of a movie, that almost made me want to fall in love again.

I enjoyed the movies idea of trying to link effort with reward as a cure for what ails, although I think this doesn't always work out in reality, especially in this case with someone suffering from a mental illness...but maybe I'm wrong about this. I'm one that challenges myself to push on with regular consistent effort and this usually shows rewards in due time. This movie was very moving, and very human.

I thought the film was wonderful, entertaining and had something more to offer than the typical soulless Hollywood flick. The story tries to show the true face of America with it's corporations so full of corruption and deceit. Although fiction, the story summarizes many of the facts related to corporate connections to the middle east, particularly the war in Iraq.

I saw this film 2 times. Released May 17 the music is quite good, it is a well made movie with gorgeous scenery, much like the old westerns and of course the trademark blood scenes (always in Tarantino films). A great story about a hunted slave and his ransom. Strongly recommended!

Just another film the destroys the credibility of a good script with too much violence. Though the film is based on facts supposedly, I don't think it's necessary to rip a man apart or drill through the head of another in the first few minutes of a film. The acting is great, but I found the film to be quite boring and much too violent. Very predictable, and nothing very innovative or compelling. Don't bother.

Visually, it was breath-taking. Story-wise, not so much.

The story takes place on Pandora. Pandora is lush, beautiful, peopled with savage beasts and exotic blue-skinned natives. Everyone is connected by way of a giant tree, and everyone is happy and content. Then along came the greedy humans, intent on exploiting Pandora for financial gain. They sent their people out to explore Pandora by connecting them with “avatars”, bodies that resembled those of the natives’. One of these humans, a paraplegic, falls in love with one of the aliens, tries to rescue the alien girl and her friends and family, a fierce battle ensues, and in the end the human becomes an avatar for good.

The effects are gorgeous, two thumbs up to director James Cameron for that. However, the story line… seems to have borrowed several, if not all, elements from a bunch of other movies, particularly animated films by Hayao Miyazaki: Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind, Princess Mononoke, and especially Laputa Castle In The Sky. And of course other films like Fern Gully, Pocahontas and Dances with Wolves. The story is a tried-and-tested, risk-free approach to movie-making and it lacks the depth that the movies it borrowed elements from have in loads. I guess viewers who haven’t had much exposure to films that have explored this territory far better would really like this movie. Also, I find it strange that Cameron spent $300 on a nature-preservation-focused film project (and tied-in with McDonald’s to create China-made plastic figures). I give this 2 and a half stars out of 4.

I found it hard watching James Bond 007 (Pierce Brosnan) as a hippie and a singer, not that I’m saying that he can’t carry a tune, because he can (though I had the distinct impression that he’d be better off toting guns and playing the spy). One thing I can say for sure, Pierce Brosnan’s not picky with his roles. If you want to see him dancing and singing, this is the movie Other than that I think this musical turned out pretty well. The storyline’s good and the score is simply amazing---ABBA, truly, truly wonderful with hits like Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, etc. Meryl Streep was equally amazing in her role as the erstwhile mother. You also get a few laughs, and a few tearful scenes that manage to squeeze some tender emotions out of you. I rate this movie three stars out of four.

I’ve read the series, I’ve watched the movie---and I came to the conclusion that I like the books better. But that didn’t stop me from thoroughly appreciating this. Of course, the novels are infinitely better because you get the smallest of details, and, we all know that the imagination is more powerful than Hollywood could ever dream up. If I hadn’t have read the books first I might have been able to say that this is outstanding, for one, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are pretty HOT. Though I have to admit that there’s better chemistry between Kristen and Taylor. And I can’t really say that the performances were stellar, though Taylor did have considerable improvement in his acting from the previous Twilight installments. Special effects were good (the wolves looked real enough). The story is kind of hard to follow if you haven’t watched the first two Twilight movies---Twilight and New Moon---but then again, that’s standard with sagas. Anyhow, this makes it to my favorites list, and something to be recommended to young viewers who might learn one or two age-old values from the always endearing vampire, Edward Cullen. I rate this four out of four stars.

Angelina Jolie never fails to amaze me, especially when she plays roles like that of Evelyn Salt. She really does fit perfectly the role of a hot, sexy, tough, spy-lady. Although this role as a spy is not that much different from her previous stints in Tombraider, Mr.& Mrs. Smith, etc.---she always brings out the best in every character she plays. SALT definitely takes espionage to the next level! Pay close attention to the dialog and story, or else you might not get the gist of the movie, you really have to watch carefully from start to finish, you can’t help from watching this from beginning to end anyway as the action keeps your eyes glued to the screen. I’d rate this movie a perfect 4 out of 4!
